Share 10 Reasons why Pune is the Best City to Live in India
According to a survey conducted by the advocacy group Janaagraha Centre. “Pune ranks second while Mumbai fourth among the top Indian cities based on various urban governance parameters.”
Irrespective of the countless statements I hear every day about this city, my beloved city; I always sleep with the same notion in my heart - Pune is the best city to live in and being someone in the real estate scenario, I constantly feel the need to make a difference where homes are considered. Period. This, however, has not changed for me in the past years and there is little hope that people will one day see it as the magnificent city it is, more importantly, the city it has grown to become…
Talking about Pune, I always loved the vivid colors that Pune showed me. Pune essentially has everything one needs and more importantly, in just the right amounts! Of course, many people will still argue about the limitations and negatives, but like I said, I beg to differ! To talk about it on mutual terms, here are 10 best reasons why Pune makes for one of the best cities to live in India:
1. An Ever-Booming IT Hub
With professionals rising in every field, it goes without a say that living in an economically growing city is essential. Pune fills this very void by having a horde of companies, MNC’s, global markets and internationally recognized IT brands and firms that make it the best city for experts to reside in. I personally also feel the city has a learning culture so rich, it offers both beginners and connoisseurs amazing opportunities to learn and grow.
2. Travel-Safe, Travel-Friendly and Great Public Transport
As per Hindustan Times, the recent statistics revealed by the Pune Police Commissionerate 2017 claimed a downward trend in violent crimes like murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery and chain snatching as compared to the corresponding period in 2016. It also goes without a say that the small size of the city plays a vital role in easing transport. Public transport in Pune is also easily accessible at most times in the day, is cheap, duly maintained and yet convenient.
3. Relaxed Living Spaces
Compare Pune to Mumbai or Bangalore and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Irrespective of the tremendous growth that Pune has seen in the last decade even when it comes to real estate, it has had a very little effect on how much the lifestyle of its residents has changed. With comparatively lower property and rental rates, food, transport, education and related aspects, it is easier to live a comfortable life in Pune without having to pay through your nose.
4. Clean, Green and Healthy
In a 2016 article of Times of India, it was announced that Pune ranks second in the country with 362 ‘green’ buildings after Mumbai and is the second most green city in the country. Even today, when I look forth for different sites and project spaces to visualize a construction, I rarely face an issue with the environment. In fact, I make it a point to leave the space a little greener than it originally was.
5. A Plethora of Education
I never tire of seeing the growing number of schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions in the city and particularly most areas where my projects are. To top it, some of these very names even rank as the best ones in the country and it goes beyond words to say that Pune is also home to some of the most highly educated group of individuals.
6. Peace-Loving City
While so many of my friends choosing to travel to other cities or even abroad for a vacation, I love staying back and discovering hidden gems in our very own Pune! I say this because I have seldom been to a place that feels so soothing, peaceful and rejuvenates you purely with its environment. Pune is also referred to as “Pensioners Paradise” making it the ideal city to relax after retirement. Moreover, the level of gratification and tranquillity the city offers is truly incomparable.
7. New Residents
Pune is an amazing city to start life afresh! With so many families and individuals making a shift to Pune for jobs and other purposes, it makes for an excellent city when someone is looking out for a new beginning. Furthermore, in terms of real estate, Pune manages to keep it pretty doable as the number of projects is increasing, however, like other cities, the rates are not sky high!
8. Blessed Climate
Pune has, hands down, the best climate in India! Be it summer, winter or monsoon, the city experiences everything in moderation, does not make life uncomfortable and the stays constant throughout the year. I absolutely adore how heavenly the monsoons in the city feel! In recent times, however, due to the gradual rise in temperature during summers, folks often pick nearby hill stations to cool-off at, yet I’ve always loved how graceful the monsoon and winters in Pune are. To say the least, we have seldom faced issues with the weather even in the middle of our constructions.
9. A City Wrapped in Culture
No matter what I pledge in this regard, it will never be enough. Pune, I believe holds the highest regard in the aspect of culture, festivals, and traditions. Over the years, there seldom have been times when I have not enjoyed a Diwali, Ganesha Chaturthi or Janmashtami celebration. In fact, I can only remember it getting more vibrant and enjoyable over the years. With the youth learning, indulging and becoming a part of its culture, Pune has become a threshold of one of the most charismatic cities in the country when it comes to a rich, aesthetic culture.
10. A Paradise for Food Lovers
I can luckily say that Pune has satisfied the foodie in me, and how! Be it comforting street-style munchies, typical Maharashtrian offerings or world cuisine, the city has fed me everything and I am a happy soul! The restaurant industry in the city is flourishing with people growing eager to experiment with new tastes and cuisines and it has excelled in every aspect of dining! Today, as I move across the city, I often find myself making a mental note of trying out a new restaurant or outlet that I spotted and even coming back to satiate my cravings!
Pune has thus, been more than a home to me. It has helped me grow, learn, live, appreciate, enjoy and has had a big role to play with me standing where I am today. Going ahead from here, I only wish Pune becomes a better, resourceful and a safer city to live in.
While I have so many dreams yet to cherish, I will always remember it as the one place that helped me plant the seeds of my future and has truly brought me to this stage in my life in the most unimaginable of ways!
