Arjun Spacia is an apartments scheme in Thaltej, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The design intends to achieve an apartment that is free from all other buildings and hence can open up to all 4 sides.
This shifts the plan of the apartment from the regular rectangular one with jagged edges to one that is of L-shape. This allows for the long edge of the L to open up more and thus that includes the more public functions of the house, while the ends consist of the bedrooms.
The screens became an integral part of the design to create a shading device to the more open public areas inside the apartment. They also add a dynamic component to the facade, as depending on the use of the people the screens would keep changing through the day.
